When I left Ras al Jinz for Muscat to finally bid adieu to this beautiful country, Oman, I realised that the highlight of my sojourn was turtle watching at Ras al Jinz. The day before, I had felt a surge of maternal instincts erupt unabashedly in me when I visited the beach to take a close, very close look at the turtles. Not once but twice. The endangered species undoubtedly left a lasting impression on me that night! The late night visit was rather an introduction to Turtle Town, my nick name for the Ras al Jinz Scientific and Visitors Centre. On my next trip during the wee hours, I knew exactly what to expect. What I saw many others saw with me but what I felt is indescribable, can’t really put them down in words. But if you look through these pages you will definitely find my experience in intricate detail along with some mind-blowing images. Here are some images that I took right at the entrance of the Centre. Surrounded by baked and robust mountains, the Centre is probably the only sign of civilisation for miles together!
