I am back! Over a month in Scandinavia, Denmark, Norway and Sweden to be precise, was a fun time spent in the luxury of natural beauty, historical sites, never-ending museums, local cuisine, legendary tales, exotic locations and warm people—all these and much more! But what enamoured me was the warmth and hospitality of the locals.
Since the public transport system is well-organised, I set out to explore the cities on my own. I believe that’s the best way to get to know a place better. It was during such ‘exploring’ that I discovered how genuine the people of this region are. Not only did they take their time off to explain the road map to me, some even dropped their work just so that they could help me board the right Metro train. Language did pose a problem many a times I must admit but again we found out a way!
Although summer had already set in snow greeted me at many places especially during my road trip in the countryside. The pristine white of the snow against the big black mountains in Norway was especially a visual delight. Lingering memories of Denmark’s cityscapes and Sweden’s white nights are cherished ones too. These three countries rank among the most prosperous ones in the world but I must add that they are also very generous, helpful and stylish!
Will give you more details along the way in separate posts because there’s just too much to write about and I can’t put all of it here.
